Some people come into your life and they crack you straight down the middle. You can choose to close yourself up after such encounters or you can choose to widen that crack, excavating yourself, until any unwanted parts are removed . There are other people who literally take a chunk out of you. Their impact leaving such a dent on you, making a permanent impression or should I say indentation. The sheer force of these encounters can completely overwhelm you, derailing you at times. Yet they shape you in such a way that wouldn’t be possible otherwise. Chiseling you into a more beautiful form of yourself. Being an intrinsic part of your sculpting process. Then there are sandpaper people. If you have one of those in your life, hold them dear. They are the kind of people who open your eyes to subtle things, redirecting your course like a soft bend in a river. Unlike the crash course encounters of the hammer and chisel type, sandpaper people will polish you to a smooth, in a very gentle, loving way. Helping you overcome your rough edges and bringing out your exquisiteness.
