On cracking that code

I came across this quote the other day.

Yep. Still digesting it. The uninvestigated concepts that we believe to be true in the moment. Funny thing is, you don’t know what you believe to be true until it slaps you in the face. At least it’s affirming me in what I have known in my heart all along. I have always set free the people I truly love. I want them to live the life they choose for themselves, finding their joy wherever it takes them. If that involves me being part of their life doesn’t matter. What continues to be a stumbling block for me are those uninvestigated concepts. It brings Eckhart Tolle’s quote to mind “ How do you let go of attachment to things? Don’t even try. It’s impossible. Attachment to things drops away by itself when you no longer seek to find yourself in them”. The other quirky part about that is, that once you realize all the foolish things you seek yourself in, what you choose to put yourself through for naught, you can’t help but laugh at yourself. So I still have my “ who stole my lollipop out of my hand” moments. But they are moments now. Not months of agonizing over things that have zero value. Zero value to my spiritual existence. Identifying the value factor as zero has helped me to nip that stolen lollipop wail in the butt.
