Have you ever caved (given in) about a so-called trivial matter? Going along with the majority, or dominant party. To keep the peace or simply because you felt the effort to make your stance wouldn't be worth the issue. Maybe not sticking to your principle got you something free in return. But you realize not so shortly after that the prize it took was much more than the freebie would ever be worth. The prize you are paying is a small piece of your integrity. If you repeat that behavior over time your integrity dwindles away until you have no leg to stand on. You have slowly given away not just everything anyone could ever believe about you. You have undermined your own essence, the foundation of your being-ness. If you are not able or willing to make a stance about what sits right with your soul, you are doing nothing but selling yourself short.
