I might be a bit backwards, but the end result is the same thing. I’m someone who gives every person the same starting chance. Unlike the majority of the people I know, whereas one has to prove his/her worth or trust or whatever it may be. To keep this simple, everyone in my book starts off at 100 ( not the zero starting point as others do). Over time things happen that causes the other to act or react in their own unique way. And that’s where the end result will eventually be the same. If things that matter to me are handled by the other as not a big deal, it will come out in the wash shortly. So for an example the other forgets to bring something he/she was supposed to. Or runs late for our get-to-together. Not a big deal. The first time around. But every not a big deal, no matter what the deal is, has an underlying connotation with a huge deal hidden underneath. Such as respect, reciprocal admiration or appreciation of another. Valuing someone’s time. Honoring each other’s presence, be it for the moment or for life. With each not a big deal the other manages to shave off points from their 100 starting value. I don’t hang around long enough to see the number drop significantly, even though I’ve had some encounters where the other managed to accomplish reaching the near zero point just about overnight.
