I traveled to this place once. It’s listed as a simple life retreat. The location itself pretty much being out there nowhere. Surrounded by nature and the ocean. Due to prizing I selected the tent vs. the cabina as my accommodation for the duration of my stay. Right outside the tent were two hammocks. Weatherbeaten and faded. Making you think twice if either could actually hold your weight before you plunk yourself down into it. Right at the ocean. The breeze gently caressing you as you were swaying softly back and forth. Being nowhere. Just you, lolling along with the whispers of nature, as the coolness of the palm trees protected you from the teasing sun.

There was also a hammock at the big cabina. The place where all meals where served and people lounged in the evening time for a drink or two and any sort of banal conversation. That hammock was thick, made of a rich quality material. You know, the 200 plus thread count. Sturdy and encompassing. I tried it out once. I immediately sank into its form, its shape ensnaring me. My head barely peaking over the walls it suddenly created around me. It was no surprise to me that the majority of the occupants preferred that hammock. Stability and security, I guess. Maybe the inclusive surrounding of the big cabina, leaving the false impression of added protection.

Personally of course, I fell in love with the hammocks outside my tent. The lightweight of the material softly embracing me to rock me along with the rhythm of nature’s mood. I can just think about the hammocks and immediately feel the soothing come over me.
