I had this client the other day, and in talking he revealed that he used to be a licensed professional but allowed his license to lapse, and now makes his money as a dog groomer. I inquired what happened that he doesn’t have his professional license any more. His simple response was:” I fell in love”.

Inexplicably I replied back:” Yeah, I don’t understand why people allow other people to ruin their lives”. KNOWING better. For the fact that I took many detours, scenic routes, “off the safe and known course” adventures myself, just to get to where I am currently. His answer of course was:” It’s not ruined”. As it would have been my response if the shoe would have been on the other foot.

I could tell by his companion’s face, who was listening to our conversation, that this person and relationship must have been really one hell of a ride. Either that, or he himself must have been out on similar journeys. Going by my client’s nonverbal cues, I was left under the impression that he seemed content with where he ended up. A fellow traveler on our personal journey for bliss.
