“You are an open book, Heike.”

How many times have I heard this in my life. And what does it even mean? Of course, you, as well as I, would be taking it that I am easy to read…yeah, but not so much dahlin, There are small chapters and huge volumes that no one knows except the people who stuck with the story.

From the time we enter this world, we are being imprinted by anything and anyone we come in touch with, or just even get exposed to on a non-physical level. It doesn’t matter if you are aware of it or if your subconscious just runs the story line for you. While you bumble along the tales of your own life. And so you shape and mold, by either submitting or resisting to what you are exposed to. All of us have had so many things happen to us, that shaped us in such a fashion that will cause us to “be” the person we currently are. It is an on-going process all your life, if you allow it.

For example, if there was a recurrent situation in your life that would always get your goat, would always have you in an uproar, and then you encountered someone who took this situation, this story you have been telling yourself all this time, and showed you a different side of it. Spinning it into something that is actually acceptable for you. Allowing you to overcome the obstacle only you yourself created. Therefore allowing you to move on to the next chapter or story in your life. How wonderful is that. And the person, who opened your eyes to be able to move on to your next chapter, may not be part of your subsequent chapters.

So as each of you leave that part of the story, each one of you turns into a hand-me-down. You have been handed down from the first breath you took. As you entered into this world, landing in whoever’s hands were there to catch you, being handed down to your mother, who had been waiting on you to be handed down to her. Again, how beautiful is that. And no matter if your mother stuck around to leave long or short imprints, either way, that was the foundation of you being handed down to the next person and the next person. Some people get handed down more gently then others. But no matter, if you stick to the story and allow yourself to receive the next chapter of your life with open eyes, or more so an open heart, the next person you will get handed down to will appreciate every person in your life of hand-me-downs.
