Hope

Hope can be such a lonesome traveling companion. I have met many of you who have given up on hope.

Some of you gently leaving her at the roadside because you felt you couldn't bear her sorrow any longer.

Some of you harshly tossing her away as hard and far away as you could because you felt that you couldn't bear her disappointment any longer.

But, the sorrow, the disappointment, the grief and sadness. That is all yours.

..and now that you are walking on without hope, it's all yours to carry.

Alone.

So hope can be a lonesome companion.

Lonesome in her longing for you to embrace her in the joy she brings. In the opportunities she envisions for you. Lonesome in waiting on you to hold her holding those windows and doors open that you are too blind to see by yourself.

Hope gives you the strength to go beyond.

To go beyond convention. To go beyond the limits you created for yourself in your mind.

Hope opens your eyes to the fact that things do not have to be anything like you were told they must be. Hope takes you beyond what you allowed yourself to believe.

I encourage you to take a second look at hope. Take a second look at your heart. Take a second look at what you thought you saw.

And then let hope take its course to experience life as it offers itself up to you in all its beauty.
