Moments in Time

Life is not short. Life is long. Dragged out. Agonizingly coming to points of standstill. Like a wad of chewed up gum stuck on the hot summer’s concrete that you stepped in. Stretching it out until it can't stretch any more.

Moments are short. The split seconds. The gone in the wink of an eye. The you missed it while you were waiting with baited breath for life to happen.

Don't hold onto life. Let it be what it is. A string laced with moments of wonder and love and awe.

If you hold on too tight, the string will get taut to the point of breaking, making all your moments that make up life come tumbling off, going in all different directions, unable to enjoy any one of them because you are trying so hard to chase them and string them back together.

Let your moments rest in your hands like prayer beads. Smoothly gliding through your fingers as you are ever so consciously aware what you are holding in your hands is everything your life will ever be.
