Statistically speaking

Have you ever had a splinter in your finger? Or been bitten by an ant or stung by a bee? And how much did it affect you? Enough to pay attention to it and intervene. I'm always blown away by people who act as if their behavior has no consequences. As if their sheer existence doesn't influence the rest of literally the whole universe. If you toss a pebble into a brook, it changes the flow of the water. No matter how minutely, but that pebble changes the brook physically and functionally. The universe responds to your presence.
