Day 17801 28.6°N 81.3°W 4:22 am 79 degrees Fahrenheit equals 26° Celcius The humidity hit my face like cellophane wrapping a tight seal on flash frozen food. Trying to take a breath was like breaking through the surface of water. My crisp clothes became clingy, my tight curls, ready to take on the day, relaxed to softly frame my face. I caught movement out of the corner of my eye. A guy, slight in stature, walked briskly, as if on a mission. I crossed the parking lot as he passed in front of me, his shoulders hunched. I slid into my vehicle, turned on the ignition and cranked up the air condition. The cool air brought me back to my own focus. Making it to work on time. As I pulled out, the guy had made a turnaround and was walking towards me now. And then I saw it. Cradled in his arms was a brand new infant. So small still, it could be mistaken for a garment laid across his arms. I thought of how exhausted the mother must be for him to walk the baby outside in the wee hours of the morning. Maybe the change in air or the motion of walking soothed whatever had unsettled the child. I looked in the rearview mirror, watching him march on in his mission. I caught my reflection and saw that I had been smiling without being aware of it. As long as there are men who are willing to make a difference in a child's life, this world will always be a place I love, I thought, reinstilling hope in my heart as I drove off to start a new day. •~•~•~•~• a beautiful milieu Image Aziz Azizyar https://www.instagram.com/aziz.azizyar94/
