She stared out of the window, in a daze. Her eyes were glued on the neighboring building's window. She wasn't sure if the people living there knew that they could be watched from where she was. None of the people she observed ever looked towards her direction. Oblivious to her peeking into moments of their life. The top level condo had been vacant for weeks. The new tenants only moved in a couple of weeks ago. The first thing she spotted was the huge dog that belonged to the new residents. The dog looked part wolf, especially when it was moving around while it was still dark in the condo. She also noticed the new male occupant of the condo without paying too much attention . It was hard to miss him since he had his work desk stationed right across from the window that she was staring out from right now. Seeing him come into her view was just a temporary distraction to observe the happenings in the condo when her workflow didn't require her to remain focused. But today she was caught off guard. She never realized how much the new condo resident resembled her last lover. Fascinated, she kept staring at his silhouette. It was when he rose from his work desk and walked away that it dawned on her that he had the same physique and gait as her ex-lover. When he returned a few moments later, he had donned a cap backwards on his head, just in the same manner as she remembered her ex-lover wearing it. She was sort of dumbfounded that she missed how much they resembled each other. She kept staring out of the window. Feeling ..nothing. It hadn't been too long ago that she would have been stirred some kind of way by his sheer image. She was amused by her utter non-reaction. It reassured her that it was indeed possible to detach from beliefs that served no other purpose than to keep illusions alive. She faintly heard her name being called. She came out of her daze, turning to see who demanded her attention. Within a split second she was transported right back to her current life. It seemed crazy to think that she once held the belief that she couldn't live without her ex-lover. Yet here she was, thriving. ~•~•~•~• a beautiful milieu Image Babak Fatholahi https://www.instagram.com/fatholahi/
