“The universe doesn’t work like that”. She wanted to laugh, but for whatever peculiar reason, she didn’t. She looked at him as if she had never seen him before. Goosebumps ran down his skin. “The sun and the rain pour down on everything indiscriminately. The moon and the stars beam their light on everything underneath them. Whatever casts a shadow, will do so without force. It is not up to me, or any of us, to drive out the darkness. Even a snail will reach its destiny. You are asking to change the nature of things. Adding or taking away to what is, changes the balance as it would with Mikado sticks. We have a tendency to forget that we each are just as much part of the entirety. So as you shift anything one way, the universe will balance it another.” He looked dumbfounded. A wistful expression crossed her face. When she was younger, she could have possibly been swayed. But even then, she knew that the more power we hold over things, the more power it holds over us. “Once you treat everyone the same, you will see that it is never ‘the other’. It is only always you and how you choose to react or interact. Don’t withdraw from participating. It is not a matter of letting go, but simply a question of what you want to give yourself to.” ~•~ a beautiful milieu
