I have written a thousand times about death. Yet there is no escaping it. Maybe that’s why some of us throw ourselves with such desperation at life. When she said “I hope that there is something more after we die..I just don’t want there to be nothing, you know?” I replied “are you afraid of that? That there is nothing? “ She uneasily said “no.. not really. It’s just that .. you know..I want it to go on.” We both laughed at that and I said “that’s what reincarnation is for.” “Well if that’s the case, I hope the next time will be an easier trip” she replied. “It’s not like you remember, like you will be looking at yourself and telling yourself ‘remember the last trip? Look at you now, you go girl’.” I retorted with a smirk. She laughed at that and pretended to high five herself. I smiled at her and said “ I think the key is to come to an understanding that you don’t have it bad. To understand how good life is and take it for that.” She nodded her head in agreement, “you know, you’re right. If we took our five best friends and we all put our shit on the table, I think we would quietly take our own off the table because we would see it for what it is.” ~•~ a beautiful milieu
