She walked through the door, her hands full of the items she needed to do her little project in my place. I smiled and said “You know Deepak is coming to that performance center here in town.” She put her things down on the counter and poked her head around “Do you wanna go?” she asked. “Nah. I looked into it, but no.” “How much are the tickets?” she wanted to know. I smiled again, knowing she would buy me pretty much any ticket I wanted “ I looked at the ones in the pit..you know like where the orchestra would sit, and they run around $150, if they are even still available. I didn’t bother looking at any other ones because I think that would be a good place to sit for an event like that, don’t you think?” She nodded her head and said “ Yes, for something like this, yes. You know, he must have such omnipresence, I think sitting up front like that would let you take it in even more. So do you wanna go?” I shook my head “No. I really looked at it from all aspects and I don’t. It’s just not my thing. You know going to something like that is an ‘experience’, like going to an amusement park or baking at the beach all day, and it’s just not my thing. If anything, I would want to meet him in person. I can pretty much get anything he teaches from somewhere, I’m sure.. you know, ‘the internet’.” She laughed at that and said “What are the chances of you meeting Deepak in person?” I chuckled and shrugged my shoulders. “Exactly!” she said sternly “So why don’t you go?” “Nah, I’m good. I also wanna meet a lot of dead people, so there’s no difference.” She cocked her head and said “You can always do a seance with them.” I looked at her and sheepishly replied “ I can talk to dead people anytime I want to.” At that point my non-verbal son pitched in and started making the vocal sounds he does when he wants to be part of the conversation.
